Best SEO Tips To Drive Massive Traffic To Your Website

Best SEO Tips To Drive Massive Traffic To Your Website

Nowadays, a lot of businesses are using the internet
to promote themselves and their brand. In fact, around half of small businesses in the UK have a website. This means that getting traffic is going to be very competitive. I will tell you here the best ways to outsmart your competitors and get a lot of traffic, which could then develop into clients/customers.

The first point would be to get high up on Google’s searches. Many people will tell you that they can get you to the top of Google in ‘under two days’. This means you will be paying for an advert, and still isn’t guaranteed to get you to the top, because many other companies in your industry may be doing this as well. A free way is to build up the content on your site. The more pages you have, the more important Google ranks your page. Google is the most popular website, accounting for 6% of all web traffic, and is the most popular search engine, so focus on this instead of ask or msn search.

If you build up content and pages on your site, make sure you include a few keywords in these pages that you think your targeted prospects will search for on a search engine. This is called search engine optimization (SEO). Take note that the search engine takes more notice of keywords in your headers than in the content.

Another great way to direct traffic to your site is by links. You can arrange with other companies in your niche to exchange links, which means you have a link to their site on your page, and they have a link to your site on theirs. Be wary of this though, because many companies may bury your link deep in a page of links, and this is useless, because very few people will see it. So, when you do this, make sure you know where they will be placing your link.

You can also comment on blog posts, or forums, that are related to your industry. Offer an opinion on the post, and leave a link to your website at the bottom. Answering questions on Yahoo is a good way to get traffic as well; if you establish yourself as an expert in your field, and your answer is chosen as the best, a lot of people will see your answer, so make sure you leave a link to your website. If people see you as an expert in your industry, they are going to want to have a look at your site.

Also, make your own blog! This is probably the best way of establishing yourself as an expert, and if people like your content, they will subscribe to your blog. This means that you will get a loyal fan base that regards you as an expert in your industry, and they will tell their friends/colleagues about you. This is also a great way to promote your links, because if you have a good number of people subscribed to your post, a lot of people will see your link, and most probably click on it to see if you have any more blog content.

As I said in my previous post, how to create a quality website, you should have a blog on your website, but it also helps to have a blog elsewhere on the web, to direct traffic towards your site.

You may have already read some of my posts regarding Twitter and Facebook. These are traffic directors. Use these to, once again, establish yourself as an expert and post links to your site.

I mentioned earlier Google adverts. This is called pay per click (PPC) advertising. It is good to a certain extent, because you only pay for whoever clicks on the ad, hence the name. It also will increase your website traffic a fair amount. The only drawback to this, however, is that you have to pay for it.

So, if you want ‘quick-fix’ traffic at a cost, sign up for PPC and make the ad attention grabbing, don’t say something like ‘need a builder?’, say something more along the lines of ‘tired of builders who charge too much for a poor job? Not us! Click here!’

If however, you would prefer to build your online presence the old-fashioned way, use some of the ideas I mentioned above.
